Tanzania Flag Vessel Registration

General guidelines for ship registration under this flag

Please Note:- The below guidelines provide a general overview of the ship registration process and may vary depending on the flag state's specific requirements and procedures.

Documents Required:
Gather essential documents required for ship registration, including but not limited to:
  • ● Proof of ownership (Bill of Sale, Builder's Certificate, or similar)
  • ● Proof of identity of the owner(s)
  • ● International Tonnage Certificate (ITC)
  • ● Safety Management Certificate (SMC) or equivalent
  • ● Minimum Safe Manning Certificate (MSMC)
  • ● Certificate of Incorporation or similar legal entity documentation
  • ● Radio License
  • ● Certificate of Survey (for new ships)
  • ● Mortgage Deed (if applicable)
Application Submission:
  • ● Submit the completed application form along with all required documentation to us and rest is taken care.
Documentation Verification:
  • ● The maritime authority or registry will review the submitted documents for completeness and compliance with the flag state's regulations.
Technical Inspection:
  • ● Sometimes flag asks for a technical inspection of the vessel by an approved classification society or recognized organization for which we will support our clients.
  • ● The inspection ensures the vessel meets safety and technical standards prescribed by the flag state.
Issuance of Provisional Registration:
  • ● Upon successful verification of documents and completion of the technical inspection (if required), the maritime authority will issue a Provisional Registration Certificate.
Radio Station License:

Apply for a radio station license from the relevant authority to authorize the vessel's communication equipment.

Final Documentation:
  • ● Provide any additional documents or information requested by the maritime authority to finalize the registration process.
Issuance of Permanent Registration:
  • ● Once all requirements are met and documents are verified, the maritime authority will issue the Permanent Registration Certificate.
Certificates to be Issued:
  1. Upon completion of the registration process, the following certificates may be issued, depending on the flag state and vessel type.
  2. Provisional Registration Certificate
  3. Permanent Registration Certificate
  4. International Tonnage Certificate (ITC)
  5. Safety Management Certificate (SMC)
  6. Minimum Safe Manning Certificate (MSMC)
  7. Radio Station License
  8. Certificate of Survey (for new ships)
  9. Mortgage Deed (if applicable)
Any other relevant certificates or documents as required by the flag state or international conventions.
